ok.. it’s nice to have such a video in youtube.. after all, that was i was looking for, before i watched it..i mean that i appreciate the effort but… this lady tries to explain something that cannot be explained, when you play directly that close to a camera mic in that level and also by playing arpeggios than something “more” suitable to each mute’s main purpose of use..
so the amateurs can understand what is the difference literally, as much as possible through this medium…

    Thanks Daniel for …
Thanks Daniel for your answer to my question “what’s a practice mute ?”. I had already gotten the same answer from a local music sore. They did however advise me to avoid practice mutes and just go with a straight mute. since I lived in a house, they didn’t think I needed that much sound suppression and they also said the practice mute creates to much resistance and wouldn’t give me the same sensation and experience as playing without any mute at all, important since I’m just a beginner.

    a practise mute is …
a practise mute is exactly that.. to practise with.. perfect because of its ‘tight cork seal’ which considerably reduces the noise level when playing the trumpet. So yeah… buy yourself a practise mute and never worry about the neighbors again!! if you want to know anything else i might be able to help so just message me ;-)

    Could really do …
Could really do with a separate mic for recording the trumpet – the distortion doesn’t really allow you to listen to the different mutes properly

Although, with the distortion AND the plunger mute, that produced a cool jimi hendrix effect
