is a bach megatone trumpet mouthpiece considered a cheater mouthpiece?

i played with this really awsome player and told me that megatones are cheater mouthpiece

If you can play well on a regular mouthpiece, then no not really. If you absolutely NEED that mouthpiece to play well, then in that case I could see where he would consider that "cheating". Usually with trumpets, players respect other players more if they play based purely on skill rather than additional toys to help them, but if it works for you, go for it. I play on a Bach 3c, Bach 5c, and a custom Allen Vizzuttii gold cup mouthpiecies, but even though the Allen Vizzutti gives me good all round playing, I switch around from time to time to make sure the mouthpiece doesn’t take control of my skill.

Hope this helps.
